Labor Day

We took at trip down to see Pawpaw for Labor Day.  It was a great weekend of Luke getting to meet lots of new folks & visiting w/ some old friends.

Luke met: Cousin Melody Fabain, Great Uncle Jerry Ewald, future wife Brooklyn Strommen & her mommy Leslie, cousin Brittany Ewald, Great, Great Aunt MaryAnn & her husband Josh, Cousins Jeff, Jennifer & Kylie Rodefeld, Great Aunt Jane Love, Cousins Wendy Ramirez and Brittany & Zach Jensen and many more.

Here are a few pics from the fun...

Red Hot Road Rally

Luke attended his first Motorcycle Rally & met Herschel Walker (Cowboys Running Back & Heisman Trophy Winner).  He was so nice and posed for some pictures with us & signed footballs.  Luke was the hit of the rally in his doo rag & motorcycle shirt.  It was a great event & raised money for an awesome cause - Children's Community Health Center!

Off to GrandMollie's we go...

Ross & I are took a 5 day trip to Mexico.  I am was so excited to go & feeling a little uneasy about the fact that I was not really feeling that uneasy about leaving my child.  Is that terrible?  I knew I would miss him, but I could not wait to read my book in silence, uninterrupted and without schedules to keep.  I went to go to dinner at a regular hour, slept in and took naps during the day.  It was blissful!

Luke had quite a schedule planned for the week we are gone.  He went to see Miss Sharon & Henry in Grandbury on his way to Austin to see Uncle Kevin & Aunt Mandy.  He even swung by to meet the Anns (Big Ann, Little Ann & Littlest Ann Elizabeth) on his way back.  He rounded out the week with some Granddaddy quality time in McKinney.  He was a busy boy!  I'm sure he didn't even miss us - much.  He was a little clingy after we came home.  That was new thing for him - but I loved the extra snuggle time!

Luke is on the move...

Luke is crawling!  Well, to be fair - not real, up on all fours crawling but more like army man crawling.  He is on the move none the less.  He is still figuring out how he wants to do it - switching between walking on hands and toes and scooting on his belly.  I'm sure it won't be long until we are chasing after him through the house!

Summer Pool Fun

We love summertime pool fun!  Here are some pics from a few different pool times we had over the summer.

Swim Lessons

Luke loves swim lessons!  He mostly loves to splash the water with his hands over actually kicking and floating, but we are working on it.  It is a really fun time for Luke & me on Saturday mornings.  Here are a few pictures & video from one of the lessons.

First Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was great!  My wonderful husband went out of his way to make me feel special - he baked me homemade heath cookies and sandwiched them around made from scratch butter cream frosting and then helped Luke make me a beautiful homemade Mother's Day card.  He had a co-worker help him pick out specialty papers, stickers and even an ink pad to personalize the masterpiece with Luke's hand and foot prints.  It was perfect!  He proudly presented me with my card on Mother's Day eve and I wimpered my thank you through choked back emotions (hey - I'm still a little hormonal alright?!).  Just as I started to compose myself, my cherished card took flight on a 30 mph gust of wind through the backyard directly into the pool.  I jumped up out of my seat to save the card from drowning when a sweet little red Luke footprint drifted off the page and sank down, down into a dark watery abyss.  As I was quickly dissolving into an emotional ball of goo over my lost footprint, (I may not have previously mentioned that we had also been drinking which likely contributed to my highly emotional state) my fast thinking husband grabbed the pool net and swooped it up.  Success!  Here is a picture of my now eternally rumpled first Mother's Day card.
